A place for moving refugee children from chaos to calm
AN ALPHABET STORY FOR OUR TIME
Please join us Thursday, May 7th for a special collaboration between K-2nd grade students of Heart House and the 4th grade students at Wesley Prep as they present “Heart Words”, An Alphabet Story for Our Time.
AN EDUCATION NON-PROFIT
Helping refugee kids
Heart House is an education non-profit that serves refugee children with a holistic after-school and summer program utilizing social emotional learning to help them thrive in their new community. We’re located in the same residential areas as the families we help, and offer a culturally sensitive approach to each child’s needs. In short, we’re a place that moves the most vulnerable kids from a state of chaos to a sense of calm.

“It’s easy for refugee families settling into a new culture and new language to get lost. Dallas prides itself in being a welcoming community, and this grant ensures that our youngest residents in Vickery Meadow have the best chance in life.”
“What I love about coming to Heart House the most is learning more things and seeing more people that give me more hope in life. Teachers, volunteers and friends tell me to be better and push through obstacles. Heart House is very important to me.”
“I’m thrilled to be part of an organization that puts children first. The after-school care and support that Heart House provides makes a tremendous difference in so many young lives. Our recent rebrand and website launch will further amplify our impact and reach to new supporters. I’m truly blessed by my involvement with Heart House and grateful for the opportunity to help these amazing children.”
“I love our teachers and volunteers. They make my day brighter and getting help with homework is really helpful, especially when I am having trouble.”
“I love coming to Heart House everyday, but my favorite part is all the field trips! I’ve been to a lot. They are always so fun.”
“I love attending Heart House because all of my friends are here and I always have fun. I also like making slime!”
