Liz Curfman, Senior Director of Program and Operations

Liz Curfman

Liz has over 10 years of non-profit experience, with 8 of those years consisting of working with refugees, both overseas and here in Dallas. Liz holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Oklahoma State University, and Master’s of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. Liz is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with the State of Texas.

Liz worked in refugee camps overseas, training local faith, NGO, and community leaders to be lay counselors. Following this position, she worked in at City Square in the southern sector of Dallas, before becoming the Director of the Northwest Community Center in Vickery in 2016. Liz joined the Heart House team in 2019. Her role consists of overseeing partner agencies, ensuring high program quality, data collection and impact management, management of program staff, as well as AmeriCorps members.

When not at Heart House, you can find Liz spending time with her husband Adam, and their rescue pup Maggie. Liz enjoys reading, traveling, learning about refugee and immigration policy, trying new restaurants in Dallas, and hosting friends and family in
her home.
